Leeds City Centre Mission

Leeds City Centre Mission

For over 185 years the base for Leeds Methodist Mission (LMM) was Oxford Place Centre. Following bold decisions made by the Church in 2017-18 the Oxford Place building is to be developed into the latest hotel in The Wesley ethical hotel group. This decision enables a new and exciting phase for LMM.

LMM now has three core values of sanctuary, encounter and justice, through which they are exploring reflection and action. They are creating spaces where people can take care of their spirituality and inner life through reflection and meditation, alongside spaces for reflective and creative forms of activism to bring about God's justice in the city of Leeds.

They run events, courses and small groups on these themes in Leeds city centre, and also have online resources of blogs, meditations and actions to help others develop spaces of reflection and action. They are working alongside many organisations within Leeds to make their vision happen. This project is still in its early days so watch this space to see how it develops.
